What exactly is a credit?
1 credit = 1 day on which we delivered you at least one alert. If five Mexico City slots open on Tuesday and we ping you about all five, that's still 1 credit — not 5. If nothing opens on Wednesday, you spend zero credits. The day is the unit, not the notification.
Polling itself is unlimited and always free. You only spend a credit when the work has actually paid off for you.
Do credits expire?
No. Buy them once, use them whenever your visa hunt happens — next month, next year, or in three years. They sit in your account until you spend them.
What happens when I run out of credits?
Polling keeps running but alerts stop until you top up. We email you when you have 2 credits left and again at zero, so you're never blindsided. Top-up is one click — no card on file, no auto-charge.
Can I get a refund on unused credits?
Yes. Within 30 days of purchase, email hello@slotowl.app and we'll refund any unspent credits to your original payment method, pro-rata. So if you bought a Standard bundle ($19, 5 credits) and only spent 1, you get $15.20 back. No forms, no questions, no "are you sure?" loops.
Will my portal account get banned?
Almost certainly not. SlotOwl polls from inside the same Chrome tab you'd be sitting at refreshing yourself — same IP, same session, same cookies. The portal sees a logged-in user clicking a button.
We also ship adaptive backoff: if the portal returns a CAPTCHA, error page, or rate-limit interstitial, polling automatically widens to up to 10 minutes between checks until things look healthy again. Bots don't do that.
Do you store my portal password?
No. We literally cannot — SlotOwl never asks for it. You log into the portal yourself in Chrome. SlotOwl runs inside that already-authenticated tab.
Can I get alerts on my phone?
Yes. Open the popup, scan the QR code with your phone, and every alert lands on that phone via Web Push. No app to install. Link as many phones as you like — extra devices don't cost extra credits.
