Terms of Service

This is a legal agreement, but we have done our best to write it in plain English. If anything is unclear, email hello@slotowl.app before you sign up and we will clarify in writing.

1. Who you are dealing with

The service called "SlotOwl" is operated by greythinkinglab LLC, a Limited Liability Company organized in the United States. References to "we", "us", or "the operator" mean greythinkinglab LLC. References to "you" or "the user" mean the person who installs the extension and/or signs up for an account.

2. What SlotOwl is

SlotOwl is a browser extension and associated cloud backend that monitors web pages on your behalf inside your own browser session and notifies you when those pages change in ways you've configured (typically: appointment slots becoming available). The browser extension runs entirely in your own browser. The cloud backend handles sign-in, alert dispatch (email, web push), billing, and configuration sync.

3. Acceptable use

You may use SlotOwl to monitor any web page that you have a legitimate right to access. The most common uses are:

• Government appointment portals where you have a legitimate visa / immigration / passport / interview application pending.
• Trusted Traveler Program scheduling (Global Entry, NEXUS, SENTRI, TSA PreCheck).
• Public service appointment systems (e.g. driving license, civil registry).

4. Prohibited use

You may not use SlotOwl for any of the following. We will terminate accounts that do, without refund:

• Concert tickets, sports tickets, festival passes, sneaker drops, or other consumer-goods scarcity events. SlotOwl is not a scalper tool. We are explicit about this in our marketing because we do not want that user base.
• Restaurant reservations or other hospitality bookings. Same reason.
• E-commerce stock alerts (PS5, GPUs, retail drops). Same reason.
• Bypassing CAPTCHA, rate limiters, or other technical access controls — explicitly prohibited under the US Digital Millennium Copyright Act and equivalent EU/UK statutes. Our engine doesn't even attempt this; if you wire something custom that does, your account is over.
• Polling sites you do not have an account at, or that explicitly forbid automated checking in their terms of service. Read the portal's ToS. If unsure, ask hello@slotowl.app.
• Reselling appointment slots or visa interview slots for profit. This is illegal in most jurisdictions; we will cooperate with law enforcement.
• Distributing SlotOwl as part of a "reseller" or "agency" service without our explicit written agency-tier licensing agreement.

5. No warranty about availability or success

We monitor what you tell us to monitor. We do not promise that monitored slots will appear, that you will get one if they do, that the portal will not change its layout, that your laptop will not run out of battery, that the alert will arrive within any specific time window, or that booking will succeed even if you click within milliseconds of the alert. The product reduces the human effort required to be lucky; it does not manufacture luck.

6. 30-day money-back guarantee

SlotOwl uses credit-based pricing: you buy a bundle of credits up front, and one credit is consumed on each day we deliver you at least one alert (multiple alerts on the same day still count as one credit). Polling itself is always free.

For any paid credit bundle (Standard, Plus, or any bundle we may offer in the future), you may request a refund of any unused credits within 30 calendar days of purchase, no questions asked, by emailing hello@slotowl.app. We refund pro-rata for the credits you have not yet spent — for example, if you bought a Standard bundle ($19, 5 credits) and used 1, we refund $15.20. Refunds are processed via the original payment method through Lemon Squeezy and typically settle within 5–10 business days. All credit purchases are one-time — there is no automatic renewal and no card kept on file.

Credits do not expire. They remain in your account until you spend them, you delete your account, or you request a refund.

7. Account suspension & termination

We may suspend or terminate your account, with or without notice and with or without refund (depending on cause), if you:

• Use the service for any prohibited purpose listed in section 4.
• Attempt to reverse-engineer the extension or backend in a way that circumvents the licensing system.
• Distribute your account credentials to others (each account is for one human).
• Engage in conduct that creates legal exposure for us — e.g. operating from a sanctioned country (Iran, North Korea, Cuba, Russia, Syria, Crimea), filing fraudulent payment disputes, harassing other users.

8. Limitation of liability

To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law, our total liability to you for any claim arising out of or related to your use of SlotOwl is limited to the amount you paid us in the 12 months preceding the claim. We are not liable for indirect, incidental, special, or consequential damages — for example: a missed visa interview, a lost flight, a missed deadline, a denied entry, lost wages, or the cost of an alternative service.

9. Governing law & dispute resolution

This agreement is governed by the laws of the State of Delaware, USA. Any dispute will be resolved by binding arbitration in Wilmington, Delaware, except that either party may bring small-claims-court actions in their local jurisdiction. EU and UK users retain their statutory consumer rights regardless of this clause.

10. Disclaimer regarding portals and trademarks

SlotOwl is independent of every government agency, embassy, consulate, visa outsourcing company, and appointment portal mentioned anywhere on our site or in our extension. Names like "CGI Federal", "VFS Global", "BLS International", "TLScontact", "INM", "Travel.State.Gov", "Global Entry", "Trusted Traveler Programs" are trademarks of their respective owners and are referenced only descriptively to identify the portals our software interacts with on your behalf.

11. Changes to these terms

We may update these terms to reflect changes in the product, the law, or our business. Material changes will be emailed to all account holders 14 days before they take effect. Your continued use of the service after the effective date constitutes acceptance.

12. Severability

If any clause of this agreement is found unenforceable in a particular jurisdiction, that clause is severable and the remainder continues in full force.
